Ernest S. Frerichs Annual Professorship

W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research

The mission of the W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research is to develop and disseminate scholarly knowledge of the literature, history, and culture of the Near East, as well as the study of the development of civilization from prehistory to the early Islamic period. $27,000 award for 9 months or $13,500 for 4.5 months. Room and half-board at the Institute is $1,200 per month and the remainder is stipend. The Annual Professor is expected to be a leader among the community of fellows and mentor to younger fellows while in residence. As such, the recipient is expected to assist the Albright's Director in planning and implementing the Ernest S. Frerichs Program for Albright Fellows and to organize informal events among the residents. A working knowledge of living and traveling in Israel is desirable.
